Today we say goodbye to Eric Davenport, Roofer/Carpenter.  Eric has been with VCUSD maintenance for 32 years providing an exemplary and selfless level of service to our students, staff and community.  You can be assured that on those rainy and windy days Eric was on a roof somewhere in this district bravely working his skill and his magic. Eric created all sorts of devices and goops to get us through the worst weather, and can be credited with keeping Botari gym operational when we weren’t so sure.

It’s ironic that Eric retires just when we get a bond to repair and replace all roofs in this district - perhaps he felt his job was done!  We wish Eric all the best in his retirement and send him off with our sincerest gratitude.

INFORMAL BIDDING PRE-QUALIFICATION QUESTIONNAIRE
November 12, 2019 – DECEMBER 20, 2019
 

On April 17, 2019, the Vallejo City Unified School District (“District”) Board of Education adopted a resolution making the District subject to the California Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act (“CUPCCAA”), Public Contract Code sections 22000 et seq. Accordingly, and pursuant to the provisions of Public Contract Code section 22034 and the criteria promulgated by the California Uniform Construction Cost Accounting Commission, contractors interested in bidding on District public projects, maintenance work, and other work that does not fall within the definition of “public project” with an estimated cost of $200,000 or less are required to complete and submit this Informal Bidding Pre-qualification Questionnaire in order to be placed on the District’s Informal Bidding Contractors List in effect from January 1, 2020 until December 31, 2020. In November 2020, the District will again issue an invitation for interested contractors to complete and submit an Informal Bidding Pre-qualification Questionnaire in order to be placed on the District’s Informal Bidding Contractors List in effect during the 2021 calendar year, with a similar invitation issued annually thereafter. The deadline to submit the initial completed Informal Bidding Pre-qualification Questionnaire in order to be placed on the District’s Informal Bidding Contractors List effective January 1, 2020 shall be December 20, 2019.

All contractors on the District’s Informal Bidding Contractors List for the category of work being informally bid will be notified of the opportunity to bid as those opportunities arise, unless the product or service being bid is proprietary. The District makes no guarantee, either express or implied, that submission of an Informal Bidding Pre-qualification Questionnaire will lead to a contract award.

The Maintenance and Grounds Department of the Vallejo City Unified School District manages maintenance, repair, and safe operation of buildings and grounds operations.The Maintenance Department is comprised of twenty-five staff members who manage and maintain all of the schools and buildings owned by the Vallejo City Unified School District, 26 sites in total. 

 

To assure reliability, efficiency and adequacy in all building maintenance and operations, we track repair work from initiation to completion.
